Retreat Terms and Conditions

Registration details:

To provide you with a safe and effective session, we ask for certain information as part of the booking process (e.g. emergency contact details / health concerns). Please answer these questions as fully and honestly as possible.

Covid-19:

Please do not attend the event if you are feeling unwell, have symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19. Please contact Liz or Jess as soon as possible and we will transfer your booking to another date.

Participants:

Our events are for adults 18+ only. No dogs or other pets allowed.

Accessibility:

The yoga class with be gentle and suitable for all abilities.

During the forest bathing session we are likely to cover 1-2 kilometres – this will be at a slow pace. Some ground will be muddy and/or uneven, especially where we come off the marked paths.

Unfortunately our retreats are not currently suitable for anyone using a wheelchair, or with severe mobility limitations – if you have any questions or concerns please contact us prior to the event.

Possible risks:

Yoga:

  • During any physical practice it is key to listen to your body, we ask you to take responsibility for yourself and take a break when needed. We cannot be held responsible for any injury or illness caused by your own practice.
  • Check the ground before your practice to ensure it is clear of any debris that could cause discomfort or injury.

Forest bathing:

  • Forest Bathing+ is a gentle activity and is very safe for most people to engage in. However, all activity outdoors involves some risk, and by taking part you assume full responsibility for your own well-being.
  • As with any event taking place outdoors in woodland, the terrain will be varied and there are likely to be various potential hazards – please follow your guide’s instructions at all times. We will endeavour to highlight risks and guide you as safely as possible but please note that you may come across issues such as tree roots, low-hanging branches, slippery surfaces, slopes, and steps. As the venue is open to the public we may also encounter other walkers, pets, horses, and cycles etc.
  • Forest Bathing+ is normally a relaxing experience. However, you may find that strong emotions surface at times during the session: this is a normal reaction as we slow down and release tension, and it is likely that such emotions will disperse naturally.

Clothing and provisions:

Our sessions take place in a variety of weather conditions. While you will be active during the yoga class, when we transition into forest bathing we move slowly in the forest and stop regularly: your body temperature can lower significantly so it is easy to get cold, even on milder days. First-time forest bathers often say they wish they’d worn more layers! Please therefore wear / bring clothing suitable for the outdoors that will keep you warm and dry (long-sleeve tops and full-length bottoms, multiple layers, coat / jacket, hat and gloves), and sturdy enclosed shoes with good grip (for yoga you may wish to go barefoot, or wear yoga socks). For your own safety, we reserve the right to refuse participation in the retreat if you are not wearing appropriate clothing / footwear. This is at your guide’s discretion and their decision is final.

We recommend you bring a picnic mat or groundsheet (or a large bin bag will do) to use during some exercises. If you feel you may have a problem with standing for long periods or if being on the floor is not suitable for you, you may wish to bring a small foldable chair to sit on.

A blanket can help to keep you warm and cosy for our guided relaxation.

Bring tissues and hand sanitizer and, if required, waterproofs, umbrella, sun protection, drinking water, and any food or medications you need.

Please note that you will need to carry anything you bring with you. We recommend using a rucksack so that you can have your hands free.

Cancellation:

If it is necessary for us to cancel a session we will give you as much notice as possible and you will be offered the opportunity to either switch to an alternative retreat or receive a full refund. Cancellation may be necessary:

  • If it is not safe to proceed. Our retreats are all-weather (and rain can actually bring extra benefits to a session!), but severe conditions may mean we need to cancel. This is most likely in the event of high winds, thunderstorms, or extreme cold/heat.
  • If your guide is unwell.
  • If the minimum number of participants for the session (normally three) is not met.

Refunds:

If you are no longer able to attend the event, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make the place available to someone else. Refunds (less the Eventbrite booking fee) are available up to 72 hours (3 days) prior to the start of the event. No refunds will be issued in case of non-attendance or late arrival, or if you are asked not to participate in a session due to inappropriate clothing.

Lateness:

In order not to affect other participants’ enjoyment of the session, we are unable to wait more than five minutes past the start time for late-comers.
